Mag Rock

We left the main surf break and no one really wanted to cook anything at home so we decided to try out Mag Rock which is right around the corner from where we were.  I found Mag Rocks scenery breath taking but then again how could you not find it that way.  The place sits on a huge cliff overlooking some of the best surf on the Pacific side of Nicaragua, not to mention the sunset view was stunning.  This was for surly the most crowded place I had visited in the Popoyo area.  The crowd was rather on the young side and the loud music was blaring.  Hammocks strung up amongst the dining area, which gave it a cozy feel as I watched numerous people flop in and out of them.  From the main dining area you also had a view of the deck down below that included a swimming pool and a little to the right of that you could see people walking on the huge rock formation in the Pacific Ocean created by Volcanoes.  It really was quite a nice view.

We were hoping to eat a full meal but we arrived a little too early and our menu selections were slim.  Mag Rock had an excellent menu with lots of choices but they set a time frame on which they serve meals.  With our options on the slim side we opted for a plate of Nachos and chicken wings.  I have to admit I was disappointed with the food especially considering all the rants and raves of how delicious it was suppose to be. Before we could escape this place we encountered a friend that has had more experience here and he assured us that the dinner menu was to die for delicious, so with that being sad I guess I will for surly give Mag Rock another try.
