After getting into Costa Rica and finally arriving in Playa Coco we unfortunately jumped out at the first hotel we came to down on the beach front and not wanting to aggravate our taxi driver we stayed at Hotel M&M. (never again)
The hotel is more like a hostel and they do allow you kitchen access. We got a private room but there is basically only two small windows allowing minute amounts of air and even worst there is no AC. We knew there was no AC and thought it would be okay to suffer for one night but we had no clue the windows were as such. There is a ceiling fan, cable tv, and wifi but with no air flow from the windows the fan is only circulating hot air.
We walked down the side streets to the grocery store which was Super Compro to get to an ATM. We needed some colones and honestly colones are a pain in my butt. It takes 549 Colones to equal 1 US dollar. (doing the math in your head is possible but a complete pain)
We left the Super Compro and settled in for dinner at a place that served Louisiana styled seafood and sushi. I really enjoyed the decor of this place as well as the food and service was impeccable. (ill later add the name)
Trying to sleep last night was total hell. It did not cool down at all until about 3 am in the morning and after abt 9 showers to cool off with, not to mention that music and partying was going on well onto the 3 am hours. I am checking out of here today and going to Playa Hermosa to stay in a nicer place, with AC and hopefully some peace and quiet.
If you are interested in affordable place to stay this hotel cost around $50 a night and the girl that runs the front desk was honest and upfront about not having AC, it was just our fault for thinking the weather here would be like Nicaraguan weather. Yes Nica gets hot but we have a lot more wind.
