A view of street side Fritanga in Managua

We stopped by this fritanga in Managua to enjoy some local Nica delights.  For $1.40 we all got full.  The picture below is of a friend of mine at the fritanga that we chose to test out.

Nandime

    .

As I began this journey in Popoyo with a vehicle

Loaded down with a few worldwide travelers, our first stop was in Nandime for gas and some local fritanga eating.  When I first arrived in Nicaragua I was quite skeptical of the fritangas, but after gulping down some delicious maduro (fried plantains) I became somewhat addicted to these places.  They all offer something different at each one of them.  If you are naive to a fritanga it is pretty much road or street side food generally cooked by females.  They usually offer some type of meat, a Nica salad or aka ensalada, gallo pinto, and maduro or tostones all for the price of $1.40 and you will usually have more to eat than you could imagine.  We spent about 45 minutes here eating, getting gas and using the restrooms before we journeyed on into Managua.
